Rhodes and Symi at the focus of a trip by Finnish journalists

Journalists from the Finnish tourist magazine Mondo had the opportunity to get to know the history, traditions, gastronomic tradition, and modern aspects of Rhodes and Symi up close, during their trip to the two islands from October 22 to 29, 2025.

The press trip was organized by the EOT Scandinavia Service, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rhodes-PROTOUR and the Municipality of Symi, with the aim of promoting these two Greek destinations to the Finnish market during the months outside the summer season.

The magazine’s photographer, H. Sorjonen, records a pastry class in Rhodes.

The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Pekka Hiltunen, and photographer, Heli Sorjonen, toured the Medieval Town of Rhodes and Lindos, visited traditional villages on the island, participated in pastry and wine tasting classes, and watched the parade in the center of Rhodes on October 28.

In Symi, their program included visits to monasteries and a one-day cruise to beaches on the island, accessible only by sea. The two journalists also had the opportunity to visit a sponge workshop, where they learned about the history and art of sponge fishing, as an integral part of the local tradition and identity.
