The GNTO Italy Service implemented targeted events (roadshows) to promote Skiathos in the Italian market last week in Milan and Rome, in strategic cooperation with the Municipality of Skiathos.
The roadshows attracted important journalists from tourist and national Italian media, representatives of travel agencies and airlines, as well as leading tos in the country, confirming the undiminished interest of Italians in Greek destinations.

At these two events, the unique characteristics and advantages of Skiathos were presented in detail, focusing on the potential of the destination outside the main tourist season, but also on issues of sustainability and accessibility for visitors with disabilities.
An open discussion and sharing of personal experiences by those who have visited the island followed, while the events concluded with a B2B networking business lunch, where the guests had the opportunity to discuss extensively with the mayor of the island, Thodoris Tzoumas, the deputy mayor of Tourism, Alexandros Efstathiou, and the head of the Greek National Tourist Organization Service for Italy, Kyriaki Boulasidou, on strengthening future collaborations and organizing specialized press & fam trips to Skiathos.

The GNTO Italy Office is a hub for promoting Greek destinations
The event in Milan took place on 13 November 2025 at the premises of the GNTO Italy Office and during it, Ms. Boulasidou announced that the office will become a permanent hub for networking and promoting all Greek destinations in northern Italy. The event was also attended by the General Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office in Milan of the Greek Embassy, ??Betty Larda.

The following day, the roadshow was repeated at the historic Palazzo Braschi, home to the Museo di Roma, in Rome’s historic Piazza Navona. Present, among others, were the Greek Ambassador, Eleni Sourani, the General Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office of the Greek Embassy, ??Efrosini Mita, and the President of the Italian National Tourist Board (ENIT), Alessandra Priante, who in her speech praised the beauty and tourism potential of Skiathos.
