With Greece being the second-favorite destination for Slovenians, interest from the countrys tourism market in Greek destinations remains consistently strong, particularly for those offering nature-based activities.

This was confirmed during a special event held on December 4, 2025, in Ljubljana by the EOT Serbia Office, in cooperation with the Greek Embassy in the Slovenian capital. The event was attended by representatives of the countrys largest tour operators, travel agents, journalists, influencers, airport and airline representatives, and executives of tourism organizations.

The event was opened by the Greek Ambassador to Slovenia, Argyris Makris, who, in his address, highlighted the importance of increasing tourism flows between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Aegean Airlines representative for Slovenia, Philippos Lyritis, announced that due to increased demand, from June 2026 the LjubljanaAthens route will be expanded with the addition of a third weekly flight.

The event concluded with the offering of Greek delicacies and drinks.
The head of EOT Serbia, Giorgos Kakoutis, referred to EOTs strategic plan for 20252028, which focuses on sustainable development and highlighting the multi-thematic nature of the Greek tourism product. He also presented the main experiences travelers can enjoy in each region of Greece.
The event ended with a Greek meal, during which participants had the opportunity for direct networking between the two sides.
