A rise in EU funds in the next programming period 2021-2027 was announced for Greece by Regional Policy Commissioner Ms Corina Cre?u in an interview with the newspaper “Kathimerini”.
In particular, it is stated that the proposition for the country is about EUR 1.5 billion more in relation to 2014-2020.
The Commissioner also noted that the “Competitiveness” funds would focus on enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and said that the European Strategic Investment Fund is expected to mobilize EUR 11 million in investment and support 20,000 of these businesses in the country.
At the same time, on the issue of solid waste management and the implementation of programs in the field of digital technologies and e-government, the Commissioner pointed out that, despite the progress made, Greece should apply greater efforts in these areas.
