The Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities approved under the Archaeological Law the request for the addition of a basement section, construction of three swimming pools, and internal layout modifications with building additions to the hotel skeleton owned by the company VARDA S.A., located in Lambi, Kos, within a declared archaeological site, under conditions. Among other points, the decision states that if antiquities are discovered, works will be stopped to allow for rescue excavations.
Corfu
The Corfu Ephorate of Antiquities approved the inclusion of illegal constructions under the relevant law at the ARITI hotel on 41 Navsikas Street, Kanoni area of Corfu, owned by the company ANOIKODOMISEIS SVORONOU ATTE, as the works do not degrade the morphological and aesthetic unity of the Old Town and Paleopolis archaeological area of Corfu.
