Auctions go ahead in Greece after notaries call off strike

Foreclosure auctions are back on track after Greek notaries on Monday called off an abstention they had announced in the first week of Novermber and until December 31.

The notaries decided to abstain after receiving threats from individuals and so-called anti-establishment groups over the auctioning off of the primary residences in person and through online platforms. Their labour action blocked the process of property transfers.

Electronic auctions will resume again on Wednesday (November 29).
