EBRD plans investments of more than 2 billion euros in Greece

On Wednesday, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras talked over the phone with US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, further to their meeting in New York last week. The US Secretary informed Mr. Tsipras of the decision of the US Department of Treasury to allow the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to expand its investment activity in Greece by 2025.

According to an statement  by the Prime Minister’s Press Office, the goal is for the EBRD to invest more than 2 billion euros in the next five years in the sectors of energy, infrastructure and small and medium-sized entrepreneurship.
