Four students from the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering – Athanasios Kapsalis, Zacharias Mitzelos, Nikolaos Potaris and Christos Christou – took part and were awarded the second place in the pan-European competition “Galileo & Copernicus Innovation Challenge” held at European Space Week, according to ANA.
Students cooperated in the competition in order to contribute to the scientific fields of observation and collection of data on the earth. Specifically, how Copernicus Earth Observation Technologies can be used to deliver innovative ideas and applications related to the valid forecasting and response of emergencies, using satellite data and providing solutions to real problems.
