The tourism sector in 2020 in the coastal tourist destinations of Ayia Napa and Protaras recorded losses estimated at €15 million, according to the Mayors of Paralimni and Ayia Napa, CNA reports.
Paralimni Mayor Theodoros Pyrillis told CNA that the financial crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic has adversely affected the tourist area of Paralimni, in spite of domestic tourism in July and August. He explained that hotel capacity reached 60%, while only a third of the businesses were open.
