E-Governance Minister launches Greece’s third and largest data center

Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis inaugurated the new Athens-3 data center on Thursday, at the Athens Data Center Campus in Koropi, ANA reports.

In 2019 Greece was on the US Department of Commerce’s 301 Tariff Actions & Exclusion Process list, noted Pierrakakis, “a list you don’t want to be in.”

Athens-3 has a 6.8 megawatts (MW) of IT capacity, the largest in Greece, occupies a facility of 8,600 square meters, and is powered exclusively by green sources. It was built by LamdaHellix, a Digital Realty company.
