Registrations are now open for the 10th CASSINI Hackathon in Greece, which will take place in person and online on November 7–9 at Impact Hub Athens. With the theme “Space for Consumer Experiences”, this year’s competition invites participants over 18 years of age to develop innovative solutions for sustainable tourism, leveraging satellite data, the Galileo navigation system and information from the European Union’s Copernicus program.
The CASSINI Hackathons are part of the European Commission’s CASSINI initiative and aim to foster startups and innovation in the Space sector.
The competition is being held simultaneously in ten European countries, including Greece.
In Greece, the event is hosted by Impact Hub Athens and will be held in a hybrid format, i.e. in person and with the option of online participation at the hub in Psirri.
Applications for the competition are open to individuals and teams until October 31, 2025.
“Our goal is to bring people from different backgrounds together to collaborate and create solutions with real impact: to inspire authentic travel experiences, strengthen resilience to climate challenges and support tourism professionals in the green and sustainable transition,” says Dimitris Kokkinakis, co-founder of Impact Hub Athens.
Before the Hackathon, participatory workshops will be held to highlight the key challenges of the industry. The winning teams will have the opportunity to participate in an acceleration program by Impact Hub Athens to prepare their solutions for market implementation.
