Athens is already hosting the Athens Nomad Fest, an event dedicated to the philosophy of digital nomads and the way this new community is redefining work, communication and everyday life itself. The festival began a few days ago and concludes on September 19, with a special three-day excursion to Poros that will give participants the opportunity to experience an authentic part of Greek island life.
The festival brings together freelancers, entrepreneurs, creators and digital economy professionals from all over the world, offering a unique opportunity to network, collaborate and exchange ideas. In the heart of Athens, the event attempts to elevate the city into an international hub for digital nomads, combining its historical identity with the dynamics of modern innovation.
As Athens Nomad Fest co-founder Markos Korvesis told Tornos News, it is “touching to see over 200 participants from 6 continents coming to Athens for a week full of inspiration,” underlining that the festival will feature more than 30 talks and workshops with international speakers, covering topics such as artificial intelligence, social media, branding and entrepreneurship.
At the heart of the discussions are key issues concerning the professional lives of digital nomads: from starting and growing online businesses, to the importance of creating communities, time management, productivity, financial independence and new technologies. At the same time, Athens Nomad Fest emphasizes the experience: beyond the talks and workshops, participants have the opportunity to connect meaningfully with each other, exchange experiences and create synergies that go beyond the narrow boundaries of a professional conference.
Mr. Korvesis also emphasized that the momentum does not stop with the festival: “since May 2025, we have been organizing CoWorking Wednesdays, where every week 15-20 people work together with our laptops, get to know each other and exchange experiences, as well as networking meetups that attract up to 40 people such as locals, nomads and expats.” The co-founder of Athens Nomad Fest added that all of this proves that Greece has the foundations to develop into a global hub for digital nomads, something that can boost tourism, the economy and bring new ideas, collaborations and investments to the country.
The presence of the festival in Athens is not accidental. The Greek capital, with its rich culture, lively atmosphere and increasingly extroverted character, offers the ideal background for an international community that works remotely but seeks connection and creativity in the physical space to flourish.
Athens Nomad Fest is not just a festival, it is an invitation to rethink work, collaboration and life in the 21st century, with Athens dynamically placing itself on the global map of digital nomads.
