Rhodes at epicenter of tourism innovation – CapsuleT Accelerator and event on sector tech

The two-day CapsuleT Travel & Hospitality Accelerator of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, held in collaboration with the Rhodes Hoteliers Association (RHO) on October 23 and 24, 2025, was successfully completed in Rhodes.

The initiative included a series of visits and contacts between CapsuleT startups and hotel units and tourism professionals in Rhodes, as well as the main event “New Technologies in Hospitality and Tourism”, which took place on the evening of Thursday, October 23 at the Acandia Hotel.

The event brought together a large number of hoteliers, representatives of tourism organizations and professionals, who had the opportunity to meet ten Greek startup companies that presented innovative technological solutions to improve the operation, experience and sustainability of tourism businesses.

The event concluded with networking, where b2b meetings and exchange of ideas between representatives of startups and tourism businesses took place, paving the way for new collaborations and pilot applications.

As the President of the Rhodes Hoteliers Association, Mr. Yiannis Papavassiliou, stated characteristically, “Rhodes has proven once again that it is at the forefront of tourism and innovation. Through CapsuleT, valuable bridges of cooperation were created between the island’s businesses and the new generation of technological solutions that are shaping the future of hospitality.”

The visits were made to representative hotels by region and category, so that the participants could gain a comprehensive picture of the hotel product of Rhodes. Specifically, they visited Atrium Platinum (Ixia), Best Western Plaza City Hotel (Rhodes), In Camera Art Hotel (Old Town), Amada Colossos (Faliraki), Island Blue Sea (Kolympia), Lindos Blu Luxury Hotel & Suites (Lindos) and Princess Adriana Beach Resort (South Rhodes), while they were hosted at the Amada Colossos hotel.

During the visits, the startups discussed with hotel executives about technological needs, market challenges and digital transformation opportunities in the tourism industry.

The startup companies were accompanied by Ms. Katerina Saridaki, Director of the CapsuleT Accelerator on behalf of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, who underlined the importance of direct contact between innovative teams and local hospitality businesses.

Costas Kalioudakis, Secretary General of the Rhodes Hoteliers Association, member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and the CapsuleT Evaluation and Guidance Committee, stressed that technology has now become an integral part of the tourism product itself. “The challenge is not to fear technology,” he said, “but to understand it and integrate it creatively, so that we remain competitive.”

The success of the event confirmed that Rhodes can be a model destination for the connection of technology and tourism, offering the right environment for innovative synergies, business opportunities and sustainable development.

The participating startup companies were: Deliverback, EV Loader, Hotellisense, Narratologies, HotelToolBox, Orbito Travel, SmartInn.ai, Unlimited Adrenaline, Vivestia and Wastecloud.
