Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura today expressed her optimism over Greece’s tourism season in 2016.
In an interview to Praktorio 104.7 FM, she underlined that all messages are positive and outlined that Greece’s targets are the extension of the tourist season and the opening to new – quality markets with direct flights.
Referring to Greece’s participation in Tehran’s tourism exhibition as well as the oncoming visit to Egypt, Kountoura stressed the importance of opening to high income visitors as well as boosting tourism in seasons besides summer.
MoU between Greece and Egypt
In the meanwhile, according to an announcement of the Tourism Ministry, an MoU between Greece and Egypt will be signed during the visit of Greek Alternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura in Cairo on Saturday, February 20.
The official visit of Minister Kountoura follows the invitation of her Egyptian counterpart, Hisham Zaazou and, during her stay in Cairo, she will also meet Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Mohamed Hassan Kamal; the chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Organization, Samy Mahmoud; and the president of the Federation Travel Agents, Elhamy El Zayat.
Her agenda also includes meetings with representatives and members of the Greek Community and representatives of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
