Greek Finance Minister expects agreement for bailout review by 22 April

Greek Minister of Finance Euclid Tsakalotos estimated that there will be an agreement for the bailout program review by the 22nd of April.

Mr. Tsakalotos commented that “there are many players with different opinions, but many players want to find a solution and I think that it will be found by the 22nd of April”.

According to him, there has been progress in the negotiations on the income tax and pension system reform. Mr. Tsakalotos also repeated that the institution heads will return to Athens on the 2nd of April, with talks resuming on the 4th of April.

The aim is to conclude the first phase by the 12-13 of April, when the spring meeting of the IMF is held in Washington and the goal is to reach a final agreement” he announced in Parliament.

Greek government  wants to conclude reforms quickly to pave the way for talks on debt relief, help restore confidence in the country’s economy and persuade the Greek people that their sacrifices over six years of austerity are paying off.
