Greek Larissa farmer becomes billionaire for a few hours

A 32-year-old farmer from Farsala town near Larissa in Greece became a billionaire for a few hours on Tuesday, due to a banking error.

According to reports, the bank mistakenly credited the 32-year-old man’s account with 2,015,718,268.59 euros, which is essentially the amount of subsidies paid out to farmers for an entire year.

The bank promptly contacted the 32-year-old man to inform him of the error, who in turn asked for an official statement to avoid any potential problems from a tax audit.
