Greek ENFIA tax on property applies until 2031

The new development law in Greece provides that large portion of state revenue will come from property tax (ENFIA) that SYRIZA had promised to abolish. But, instead, the law will apply for at least 15 years more.

Even, though, the current government had promised during its election campaign to abolish the ENFIA tax, it has now decided to establish it for at least 15 years, as the analysis of the possible income sources mentioned in the new development law shows: 301.2 million euros come from direct foreign investments, 572,5 millions from VAT tax, 522.1 million euros from social security contributions, 54.4 million euros from ENFIA tax that will apply until 2031.
