Greeks to pay 30 billion euros in taxes by the end of 2016

Greek citizens will be called to pay taxes up to 30 billion euros during the next months and until the end of the year, so as to avoid economic derailment and enabling the contingency mechanism.

According to an article published by Imerisia newspaper, about 30 billion euros are expected to be added in the state budget during the second half of the year.

During the first half of the year, revenue should have reached 19.44 billion euros, while for the second half of the year the government has scheduled to collect 26 175 billion euros. Given that there is a discrepancy in tax revenue for the first six months of 2016 and the fact that new taxes have been added for the second half of the year, the total amount of taxes to be collected has reached 30 billion euros.
