Developments in the Greek economy and the successful recapitalization of the country’s banks were the key issues discussed in a meeting between Bank of Greece Governor Yiannis Stournaras and the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borissov on Friday, in Sofia.
Stournaras is visiting Sofia following an invitation by Bulgaria’s central Bank (BNB).
During the meeting, which was also attended by the country’s Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and central banker Dimitar Radev, Stournaras had the opportunity to present the positive developments to the Greek economy as a result of the conclusion of the first program review.
He also said Greek lenders are now ready to respond to challenges and mainly to tackle the problem of non-performing loans.
