Charity and corporate social responsibility significantly matters to workers around the world, a survey by Regus showed on Monday.
Almost half of around 40,000 participants in the survey (47 pct) said it was important for them that their employer was active in charity while corporate social responsibility was another significant factor for choosing a job. A 43 pct of participants in the survey said they would choose the most active in charity company as an employer.
The survey showed that a 34 pct of workers would like to have more information about charity activity of their company, a 41 pct said they appreciated corporate social responsibility initiatives but a 29 pct said that relative information was inadequate.
Katerina Manou, Regus managing director for the Balkans, commenting on the survey said that the motives of workers today were not limited to the selfish impulse of personal success. “It is obvious that they prefer to work for companies with good record in social performance. Enterprises must acknowledge this willingness for contribution in social issues, to inform their workers and to offer them the opportunitity to participate personally to them,” Manou said.
