The head of the European Central Bank (ECB), Mario Draghi said the ECB would not make any decisions regarding the purchase of Greek bonds before more information is available concerning the debt sustainability of the country. Draghi made it clear in a statement Wednesday that there was no specific timetable on whether Greece would enter the ECB’s bond purchase program that was introduced last May.
Responding to a question submitted by a Greek MEP, the central banker stressed in no uncertain terms that unless the Eurozone Ministers made a decision about the Greek debt, the ECB would not include the country in its bonds program.
