Emergency Liquidity Assistance limit for Greece lower by €4.4 bln to €52.8 bln

The Bank of Greece announced that the ECB Governing Council approved a further reduction of ELA limit by EUR 4.4bn to EUR 52.8bn. The reduction reflects further improvement in liquidity conditions and in particular the stabilization of deposit flows.

The reduction in ELA limit possibly confirms recent reports referring to positive deposit trends after the end of July.
