Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos criticized the proposals announced by New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Saturday at the Thessaloniki International Fair, saying he intends to increase taxes in everyday goods.
“Mr. Mitsotakis’ answer to the crisis is to increase [taxes] in drugs, books, newspapers and theatre tickets from 6 percent to 11 percent,” he told Athens-Macedonian News Agency on the sidelines of the SYRIZA central committee conference.
