Schaeuble and Dijsselbloem express divergent views on Greek debt

Adhering to the familiar tough line, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble reiterated in a recent interview that a possible relief of Greek debt would be a disservice to our country.

But in a different wavelength head of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem stated that in December there will be a need for discussions about short-term measures for the debt. Mr. Dijsselbloem also said that relations between Greece and its creditors are more constructive than ever and the finance ministers of the Eurozone will discuss a wide range of Greek debt relief at their meeting next week, and concluded by saying that there is a certain degree of optimism.
