Greek government to table amendment for VAT hike suspension on Monday

The coalition government is expected to submit an amendment in Parliament on Monday in order to suspect the imminent VAT hike on the Aegean islands affected by the refugee crisis. As with the previous bill for supporting low-income pensioners, SYRIZA will request a roll call vote.

This amendment will likely be included in an omnibus bill of the Ministry of Finance on bankruptcy law, electronic transactions and the voluntary disclosure of undeclared income, which is being debated in Parliament since Friday.
