The results of the reforms being implemented in the country will soon become apparent in the real economy, Dutch businesses operating in Greece said on Tuesday, during a working lunch hosted by the Dutch Ambassador to Greece, Caspar Veldkamp.
The business community said they continue to support the country despite the difficulties as they recognize its comparative advantages, adding they are open to more cooperation.
Economy minister Dimitri Papadimitriou informed the Dutch business community about the government’s initiatives to boost the economy and return to growth. ?The great challenge of the Greek economy is sustainable development through productive investment and exports,? he said, adding that the contribution of the private sector is important.
Papadimitriou said the government’s plan focuses on innovative products and added value services, with an emphasis on new technologies and start-ups, improving extraversion and domestic capacity.
The minister noted the contribution of the embassy’s “Orange Grove” initiative which supports Dutch and Greek start-ups.
