The Athens Trade Association proposed on Monday that shops keep special opening hours in the days leading up to Easter and an extra working day on April 9 (the last Sunday before Easter).
The association said shops will be open between 09:00-21:00 in the days before Easter including the Holy Week until Good Thursday, while on Good Friday, shops will remain open from 13:00-19:00. On Holy Saturday, shops will be open from 09:00 until 15:00. On April 9 (Sunday) shops will stay open from 11:00 until 18:00.
As of April 18 (Tuesday) opening hours will return to normal.
