Greece’s general import price index in the industrial sector grew 11.4 pct in February this year compared with the same month in 2016, after a 9.5 pct decline recorded in the 2016/2015 period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Thursday.
The statistics service, in a report, attributed this development in the so-called imported inflation to an 1.1 pct increase in the import price index from Eurozone states and a 22.7 pct rise in the import price index from countries outside Eurozone (higher oil prices). The index was down 0.3 pct in February from January 2017, after a 0.4 pct increase in the 2016 period.
