Greek stocks extend rally for 10th successive session after deal news

Greek stocks ended higher in the Athens Stock Exchange on Monday, extending their rally for the 10th successive session pushing the general index of the market above the 760-point level.

The index rose 1.25 pct to end at 763.42 points, its highest closing since June 26, 2015. The index is up 13.68 pct in the last 10 sessions. The Large Cap index rose 1.04 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 1.01 pct higher. Turnover was a heavy 117.015 million euros in volume of 166,396,499 shares.

PPC (4.85 pct), Motor Oil (4.51 pct), GEK Terna (3.90 pct) and Terna Energy (2.83 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains of the day among blue chip stocks, while Lamda (1.66 pct), Piraeus Port (1.22 pct) and Grivalia Properties (1.15 pct) suffered heavy losses.

Among market sectors, Utilities (3.85 pct), Oil (3.64 pct) and Constructions (2.11 pct) scored big gains, while Real Estate (1.32 pct) and Commerce (0.92 pct) suffered losses. National Bank and Piraeus Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 69 to 29 with another 27 issues unchanged. Halcor (17.42 pct), Kreka (11.90 pct) and Forthnet (10.73 pct) were top gainers while Sidma (19.17 pct), Dionic (11.76 pct) and Kekrops (9.49 pct) were top losers.
