Building permits in the first three months of 2017 have increased by 13.4% compared with the respective period of previous year, data released on Thursday by the Cyprus Statistical Service show.
In the period of January – March 2017 the issued building permits amounted to 1,451 compared with 1,279 in the first quarter of previous year marking an increase of 13.4%.
According to Cystat, the total value of these permits jumped by 29,1%, with the total area increasing by 28.8% compared with the respective period of 2016.
Τhe number of dwelling units recorded an increase of 36.6%.
Building permits in March 2017 amounted to 542, with the total value reaching €115,0 million and the total area amounting to 115.6 thousand square metres.
These building permits provide for the construction of 412 dwelling units, Cystat said.
