Greece’s Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura announced this week that the most popular Greek destinations are fully booked and the remaining are also expected to rise to maximum capacity in the upcoming weeks.
During an interview with Documento, Kountoura noted “Most of the country’s destinations are expecting to be 90-100 percent booked in the coming month, with the most popular ones already fully reserved”.
“The year 2017 began spectacularly, reflecting the very important work we have done to create the conditions behind the record-breaking tourist figures for a third consecutive year, resulting in a 20-70 percent rise in pre-bookings from all foreign markets at the beginning of the year, a steep increase in bookings and overnight stays and a double-digit growth in the number of arrivals at airports across the country”.
Kountoura also stressed that she expects tourism receipts to increase and “record a significant rise”.
