Greece's Mytilineos firm signed agreement for new plant in Libya

Mytilineos firm announced an agreement with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to carry out an EPC contract for a new power plant in Tobruk. 

The contract refers to a new dual fuel plant (natgas or fuel oil) with over 650MW capacity, to be constructed  on a fast-track schedule (9 months upon commencement). 

The contract value for Mytilineos is EUR400mn while it is subject to approval by relevant authorities in the country, and will only become effective upon opening of an irrevocable letter of credit confirmed by a 1st class international bank.
