Greek PM receives S. Korean counterpart for wide-ranging talks

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon had a meeting at the Maximos Mansion on Monday, with the participation of delegations from both countries, followed by statements.

 A wide-ranging meeting between a Greek delegation and its countepart from South Korea got underway inside the  Maximos Mansion earlier on Monday.

The talks will focus on collaboration in the sectors of high technology, agrofood products and exports of spare parts for ships.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras posted photos on Twitter of the arrival of Republic of Korea Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon at the Maximos mansion for the beginning of the deliberations.

The reason for Lee Nak-yon’s visit is to receive the Olympic Flame for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics (at a ceremony on Tuesday in Ancient Olympia). Nevertheless, economic cooperation will be at the centre of his visit. High technology, shipyards, agro-food products, e-government, inter-university cooperation are among the areas where Greece aspires to clinch important agreements.
