Tourism arrivals in Greece rose by 14.3% in August

Tourism arrivals grew by 14.3% y-o-y in August and 9.9% y-o-y since the start of the year while tourism income was increased by 16.4% y-o-y and 9.1% y-o-y in the respective periods, according to Bank of Greece and SETE Intelligence data. 

The positive trend extended also in September and October.

According to a Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (SETE) report, September tourist arrivals by air increased by 8.6% YoY, driven by a 9.2% YoY rise in other airports traffic and a 6.2% YoY rise in Athens air traffic in the month. 

More specifically, important air arrivals’ growth was witnessed in airports of Kos (+18.5% YoY), Zakynthos (+13.5% YoY), Mykonos (+30% YoY), Peloponese (23.6% YoY), and Thessaloniki (+12% YoY). 9month air arrivals increased by 8.1% YoY to 16.2m arrivals.
