Greek VP: Tourism can play a major role in the reconstruction of the economy

Tourism can play an important role in the reconstruction of Greece’s economy and the production base, government Vice President Yiannis Dragasakis said on Tuesday during an agri-food forum, stressing that the interconnection of the agri-food sector with the tourism industry will bring significant benefits.

Dragasakis pointed out that such a link could bring about a change in the pattern of tourism, job growth, new products, an increase in exports, and ultimately the reconstruction of the country. “We want tourism to play the role that construction has played in the past,” said Dragasakis, adding that a grid of actions that will be created will give tourism the potential to become the locomotive of growth.
