Greek government facilitates payment of arrears to social insurance agencies

The Greek government on Thursday unveiled a package of measures aimed at facilitating professionals and enterprises in repaying their arrears to social insurance agencies accumulated by December 31, 2016, ANA reports.

According to the report, the programme offers to debtors the ability to repay their debt in 120 tranches for debts from 3,000 up to 50,000 euros and in 36 tranches for debt up to 3,000 euros.

All professionals or enterprises with total debt up to 20,000 euros to creditors and arrears to social insurance agencies surpassing 85 pct of total debts, or individuals with business activity (lawyers, farmers) and arrears to social insurance agencies up to 50,000 euros, are eligible to be included in the programme which sets a series of criteria, including income, operating earnings and debt.
