The International Monetary Fund is working to arrive at a positive outcome with regard to a debt relief for Greece, which will allow the IMF to participate in the financing of the Greek program, noted IMF spokesperson Gerry Rice on Thursday.
“Our focus is on activating the program that we have approved in principle. [This] is reliant on these two dimensions, both progress on reforms and progress on debt relief for Greece”, stated Mr. Rice during the press briefing. Regarding the debt, he also mentioned that the talks on its relief have been accelerated following January’s Eurogroup.
