German Parliament approves €15 billion loan tranche to Greece

The Budget Committee of the Bundestag, Germany’s federal parliament, on Wednesday gave the go-ahead for the disbursement to Greece of the last tranche of loans under the third economic adjustment programme, ANA reports from Berlin.

The committee approved the alterations in the government’s recommendation on the disbursement of the loan tranche during an emergency meeting on Wednesday. Following its decision, the German government can now give the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) its consent for the disbursement of the last tranche of 15 billion euros under the Greek programme.
