The balance of hirings/dismissals recorded positive performance since 2001 in the period January-July 2018, leaving a surplus of 289,561 job positions, according to “Ergani” IT system on wage employment flows in the private sector, ANA reports.
Furthermore, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced that the unemployment rate in May dropped to 19.5% compared to 21.7% in May 2017 while seasonal employment in tourism eased unemployment in the 15-24 age categor to 39.7% compared to 44% last year.
