Tourism – one of the four most dynamic sectors of the Greek economy – contributed with an amount of €52.3 billion euros to state revenues in the period 2009-2016, ANA reports.
This is one of the principal conclusions of the study conducted by the Institute of the Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises (INSETE) entitled “The contribution of the private sector of tourism to the economy and tax revenues – The case of Greece, 2010-2016”.
According to the study, in 2016 tax revenues from the tourism sector accounted for 10.5% of total tax revenue, more than 8.3% of its direct contribution to the economy.
