The chief of the European Commission’s mission for Greece Declan Costello expressed his satisfaction with the overall course of the Greek economy in statements to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Wednesday, while adding that a series of reforms have still to be implemented.
“We are optimistic over the condition of the Greek economy and the country’s prospects. Growth is on a steady upward course and in 2019 we expect to reach 2 percent with a trend to continue in the future. The crucial element for the Greek economy is whether and to what extent it implements the reforms,” said Costello, speaking on the sidelines of a European Union and IOBE event held in Athens.
