Greek Finance ministry: Additional fiscal space of 0.6% of GDP in 2019

The Greek economy will enjoy an additional fiscal space amounting to 0.6 pct of GDP (or 1.14 billion euros based on current GDP levels) in 2019, the finance ministry said in its Stability Programme 2019 report sent to the European Commission on Thursday, ANA reports.

Under the provisions of the programme, the extra fiscal space will reach 0.4 pct of GDP in 2020 (800 million euros), 0.6 pct of GDP in 2021 (1.22 billion euros) and 1.1 pct of GDP in 2022 (2.33 billion euros), for an accumulated additional fiscal space of 2.7 pct of GDP, or 5.5 billion euros, in the 2019-2022 period. The finance ministry envisages a primary surplus of 4.1 pct of GDP this year, 3.9 pct in 2020, 4.1 pct in 2021 and 4.6 pct in 2022.
