Nova Credit, a startup company co-founded and operated by Nicky Goulimis, is an innovative, new company that helps newcomers to the US build their credit history, allowing them an easier pathway to pursue their dreams in America, according to greekreporter.com.
Goulimis was UK-raised but soon moved to the United States to study at Stanford University.
There, she and her classmates realized that immigrants and newcomers to the States had difficulties proving to their bank that they’re credible, something that in many countries is proven via a personal ”credit score” or ”credit passport.”
Consequently, they decided to create a university project to facilitate something called ”global credit migration.”
Their experiment was a success, and Nova Credit is now a San Francisco-based company.
Even a perfect credit score from Canada or the UK is almost impossible to transfer to the US, so anyone who wants to have a new start in the US financially, finds it difficult.
As its website points out, the Greek-owned startup has managed to provide a ”connected system of identification that supports the seamless translation of financial value across borders and into new environments and new experiences.”
In this way, newcomers to the States can have easier access to mortgages and credit cards, enabling them to gradually build their American credit score.
Nova Credit now employs over thirty-five people and has received grants from multiple investors worth tens of millions of dollars.
