Greek unemployment rate dropped to 17% of the workforce in June 2019

The Greek unemployment seasonally-adjusted rate dropped to 17 pct of the workforce in June, from 17.1 pct in May and 19.2 pct in June 2018, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Thursday, according to ANA.

The statistics service announced that the number of employed people was 3,928,036 in June, while the number of unemployed people was 805,115. The number of employed people rose by 80,601 compared with June 2018 (an increase of 2.1 pct) and rose by 5,752 compared with May 2019 (an increase of 0.1 pct). The number of unemployed people fell by 110,078 compared with June 2018 (a decline of 12 pct) and eased by 6,039 compared with May (a decline of 0.7 pct).
