“In 2019 we laid the foundations for making the lives of Greeks better. In 2020, we will continue with consistency, boldness and determination. With realistic self-confidence, together and united, we will do what is necessary to defend our sovereign rights,” government spokesperson Stelios Petsas noted on Friday, during the first press briefing of the year.
He also announced that the prime minister will be briefing the political party leaders on developments regarding foreign policy after he returns from a trip to the United States.
On the economic front, Petsas said the government was cutting taxes, eliminating bureaucratic obstacles and giving households and businesses more opportunities to realize their dreams and plans.
The Greek prime minister will be visiting Paris on January 29 for an official meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.
