Her belief that the European Central Bank (ECB) will eventually purchase Greek bonds, expressed Christine Lagarde, speaking at the European Parliament’s Economic Affairs Committee, int.ert.gr reports.
“Greek economy continues to improve and there is a growing likelihood that the European Central Bank will eventually buy Greek bonds as part of its program”, the ECB president noted.
“If the situation continues to improve and on the basis of the criteria we apply to all these markets, I am quite confident that Greek bonds will also be eligible”, Ms. Lagarde projected.
