Special-purpose leave for civil servants with children up to 15 years of age will continue at Easter, regardless of whether schools would technically be closed anyway at that time, Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos said in an interview with ANT1 on Thursday, ANA reports.
Referring to rumors of cuts in public-sector salaries, he underlined that the government is doing everything it can to protect businesses and employees and that it’s irresponsible for anyone to discuss such issues at this time.
“I don’t think it’s serious to discuss on April 2 what we will do in terms of fiscal policy for something that is happening in two, five, or eight months from now because no one knows when this will end,” he added.
