The Greek economy is expected to contract by 6.0 pct this year because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and to grow by 6.0 pct in 2021, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said in a report on Wednesday, according to ANA.
In its report, titled: “COVID-19: From shock to recovery”, EBRD forecasts a shrinking of the economies in its regions by an average 3.5 pct and a growth rate of 4.8 pct in 2021, although it noted that these forecasts were subject to unprecedented uncertainty. For the Greek economy, EBRD said there are significant “downward risks” over its forecasts of a 6.0 pct contraction of GDP and a 6.0 pct recovery in 2021.
