Greek Prime Minister: €3.5 billion measures to support the economy

The smooth operation of the parliament is the most effective way to protect democracy, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said during his opening speech in parliament on Friday at the Hour of the Prime Minister,” ANA reports.

“I am today in the position to announce another package of measures for the support of the people of labour and of the real economy of approximately 3.5 billion euros,” said the prime minister and explained: “Firstly, we eliminate the advance tax payments for the seasonal businesses. Secondly, we launch a third round of repayable tax advances which will be paid according to June, July and August’s turnover which is a very important liquidity injection. Thirdly, we subsidise by 60 pct all the employer’s contributions to SYN-ERGASIA programme which extends and now includes August, September and October. Fourth, all the seasonal businesses will not pay any labour contributions for July, August and September and finally, labour suspension in the tourism sector is extended”.
