Registered unemployment totaled 1,043,707 in October, from 1,030,411 in September (an increase of 1.29 pct) and 983,200 in October 2019 (an increase of 6.15 pct), Manpower Employment Authority (OAED) said on Friday, according to ANA.
OAED said that the number of registered unemployed people seeking jobs totaled 993,934 in October, of which 527,387 or 53.06 pct were long-term unemployed. Unemployed men totaled 360,439 and unemployed women 633,495. The number of people receiving unemployment benefits totaled 166,035 in October.
